The Easter Season has begun!
To say that 2020 is off to a mysterious and disorienting start is an understatement. In the midst of this terrible pandemic many of us have lived day-to-day with unpredictable waves of fear, anxiety, uncertainty, illness, and loss.
This Lent was certainly different than what most of us have every experienced. Perhaps more than ever, the Stations of the Cross have helped focus and offer the tremendous suffering of the world up to Our Lord. Hoping to bring live Stations events to the area, most of these were cancelled because of the pandemic.
But now we enter into Easter. Easter is not just one Sunday, but a 50 day journey that ends with Pentecost. I have a sense that the Lord is wanting to draw us closer to Him during this Easter Season in particular. And perhaps He also wants to lift us up to a renewed sense of hope and joy in the midst of this tumultuous time.
Over the past few days I've been working on some new arrangements of some old Easter hymns. Perhaps I will pursue more production of these in the future. I just hope that songs like these can elevate the soul as we continue on this journey.
